A paper by Perry Johnson is currently 7th on the list of most frequently read articles from AIAA’s Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer. The standings are based on number of full text article downloads on the online digital library.
The paper content was a subset of Perry’s undergraduate Honors in the Major thesis work which eventually received the First Place Outstanding Thesis Award at the 2012 Founder’s Day Honors Convocation.
Later, a derived paper was named the 2013 David Weaver Best Student Paper by the AIAA Thermophysics Technical Committee.
These facts underscore the quality, scope, and impact of the work performed by students at CATER.
The technical paper “Large Eddy Simulations of the Hydrodynamic and Thermal Fields from a Cylindrical Film Cooling Hole,” AIAA-2012-3311 has been named the 2013 David Weaver Best Student Paper by the Thermophysics Technical Committee.
The lead author, Perry Johnson, prepared the paper for the 43rd Thermophysics Conference held in New Orleans, LA with the presentation eventually being made by Lucky Tran. Perry will receive a $500 honorarium; all authors will receive a certificate of merit.
The brand new CATER website is now live! More material will be added so check back soon!
